As the duration of the disease increases, the risk of developing progressive MS (PMS) grows. In this progressive phase, immunotherapies often begin to function worse and therapeutic goals need to be readjusted.

The primary objectives are to investigate how well people with multiple sclerosis (MS) are cared for in Lower Saxony and to develop a patient-oriented care model that is tailored to their needs.

The research project aims to explore determinants of participation in work life in MS patients and to identify cluster of potential influencing factors. The knowledge gained will serve to improve the chances of people with MS to participate in work life.

In order to improve the care of MS patients, a consortium including the BKK Dachverband and led by the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE) has launched the research project "Power@MS". This project aims to strengthen empowerment of MS patient.

Making medical care secure – Feasibility study on the suitability of different data sources as a basis for improving the pharmacovigilance of innovative therapies using multiple sclerosis as an example
